“Just a lil dizzy Dirky. Urrggh.” Sh holds back vomit, for fear of infecting her piercing, spitting on the ground as they continue to walk to the Red Garados. She was honestly whose ass she had to whoop for piercing the tongue of two drunk teens. Totally uncool.
She does not get very far with this determination however and quickly starts to spew her guts into a nearby bin, much to displeasure of the passers by, who give her odd looks. it is not often you see a girl like Roxy vomiting black shit.
Dirk sympathetically rubbed her lower back, reminded of doing the same thing for his little brother on occasion. When she finished he lead her over to a street vendor, letting her cling to him while he bought some water. “Rinse out your mouth first, then slow sips,” he instructed. While Roxy wasn’t stupid in the least, she got ahead of herself at times, and he had long ago learned that it was best to give her gentle reminders.
As they walked down the street, Dirk careful to make sure she did as she was told, he said, “I’d offer you a piggyback ride or something but I’m pretty sure that you’ll end up falling off, I’ll end up falling over, you’ll puke on me, or any combination of the three.”
It doesn’t that long for her to empty her guts, and after a very minutes of letting out the bed and rinsing her mouth out, using him for balance as they march onwards to victory. “omg sorry Dirky…. thanks.” Both walk to the Red Garados, eager to find out what exactly happened last night.
Unfortunately, Roxy and Dirk would only find that they did not get their tongues pierced here, in fact, they only bought jewelry here the night before. Unable to complain, both the derse girl and boy headed back home to Roxy’s apartment.
“OMFG FINALLY!” Roxy makes a beeline for the bathroom, ready to vomit once more. Fuck everyone, she has a stomach to empty, filled to the brim with the black poisoon.
“omgggg Driky I’m di- HURRRRHGHH” She is also very elegant like this.
Jane led Jake across the town, though she was a little slower than she thought she’d be, taking just under half an hour as opposed to the twenty minutes she’d originally predicted.
By the time they got back to the apartment, all the alarms seemed to have either run out of battery or faced mass destruction via Dirk Strider. Jane was inclined to believe the latter, because if Dirk and Roxy were here (was that the sound of retching she was hearing? why yes, her sleuth ears did indeed detect that distinct noise) he wouldn’t have stood for the sound. Oh well; you win some, you lose some.
Jane reached for the spare key before hesitating just a few seconds.
“Are you ready, Jake?” she inquired softly. She didn’t want to push him into the situation if he wasn’t ready to face Dirk yet. He should be able to consider it first, for a few seconds at least.
She pushed the key into the lock and smiled at him.
“I’m ready when you are.”
“Er. Yes?” Jake looked at Jane with a raised eyebrow when she mentioned about being ready. He could understand why she would question if Jake was really ready to go inside. When they had left Jake had been in a bad mood and he was still a bit disappointed with Dirk and his lack of responsibility the one night that Jake needed him to actually be as mother hen like as he usually was. Still with how things had been the last few days Dirk did deserve a night out doing what he wanted without worrying about what Jake was doing. Jake still wished he would have waited one night.
Insisting that Jane open the door, Jake let himself wonder in first. Looking around for their friends Jake moved toward the bathroom and looked in on Roxy. “Are you alright?” he asked genuinely concerned about the female hugging the toilet.
“Guess we did pierce ourselves,” Dirk mused before purchasing some new hardware to swap out his current barbell with. By now the metal clacking against his teeth was starting to annoy him as it clicked with every little movement of his tongue.
After this, they took to the streets once more. They double-checked to see if there was still a crowd waiting for them and after discovering that it had dispersed somewhat, they made their way back up mostly hassle free.
The first thing Dirk noticed when they stepped inside was the blessed silence. Well, until Roxy made a beeline for the bathroom to vomit, that is - bringing her some cool water and setting a new pot of coffee on after making sure there were no booby traps concocted by Jane to be seen, he also left the bottle of aspirin with her. This done he began tearing up the apartment looking for other evidence of Jane’s pranking.
Soon he had a pile of horns, bells, dead clocks, and other noise-making apparatus dismantled and shoved down the garbage chute in the hall. He was changing out the plain metal barbell in his tongue when Jane and Jake arrived back. Screwing on the orange top he pocketed the old one in his jacket, which he had yet to take off, and joined them in the hall.
“She’ll be fine,” the blond assured them, slipping into the bathroom to sit on the edge of the tub. When Roxy paused in heaving he had an uncapped bottle of water and a dose of aspirin in hand. After the offered items were taken from him he turned to the two brunets, face devoid of emotion. “She’d be better if we hadn’t had to get out of the house.” They most likely could have stayed comfortably in Roxy’s room thanks to the soundproofing between each room in the flat, but for Jane to have put the alarms throughout the place meant that she hadn’t taken that into account.
“The good news is that we didn’t do anything too stupid or illegal while we were gone, so you two can pull the sticks out of your asses.” Rubbing Roxy’s lower back, he tried to reign in his temper again. The pain he felt from last night and the incident on the boat certainly wasn’t helping him, and he realized with an annoyed sigh that he should really change his bandages since he had only done so once that day. The only problem was the fact that there was currently a congregation going on in the bathroom, and that was where he had already stored all of his supplies to do so. All things considered he truly did not want anybody save perhaps Roxy seeing him in such a condition; it would be a few days yet until he started regaining any real mobility, and a while yet for the bruises to fade. The split in his lip he couldn’t really help but the stitches were hidden by his hairline. He supposed that he should be grateful for that, but its position had lead directly to Jake banning him from coming in contact with anything that could possibly be used to put his hair in its signature style. He was honestly surprised no one had commented on it yet.
Done with cataloguing his currently lacking condition, he glanced out of the corner of his eye to the two hovering at the door. “What about you two? Have fun on your little outing?”
Roxy smiles weakly at Jane and Jakes arrival. Nudging Dirk lightly with her elbow. “Don be maen Dir-” And there she goes, emptying her guts into the toilet. She felt bad that Janey and Jake not had to suffer the wrath of Dirk but it is hard to care when she feels this bad in general. She doesn’t stop for a while, but takes the aspirin when she has little else to puke up.
“I’m…. gonna go lie down a bit ok? My room guyssss. Party central.” She pulls of the stained shirt and quickly crawls into bed, passing out on the spot, only sweet dreams of Janey now.
If you listen close while she sleeps, you can hear the occasional whimper.
